April 2, 2011 Weak Signals Show "Build Pictures"
April 2, 2011 ETOC

Wow, what fun to watch some of the worlds best RC pilots put a 4-5oz foamy plane through its paces.  The Electric Tournament of Champions runs in the evening of the Weak Signals (Toledo Show) RC Model Show, Friday and Saturday.  The ETOC takes place in a local high school about a 7 minute drive from Seagate Convention Center.  There is precision flight and freestyle flying to music.  For more information about the ETOC, visit...

http://www.tntlandinggear.com/store/shop/welcome_to_the_ETOC_central.htm

Members of the club you could talk to to find out more would include Al, Alex, Chris and Bryon.

The pictures that you can view by clicking on "ETOC" above give you some views of the planes that are flown and general atmosphere or the event.

December 4, 2010 1st Annual Holiday Electric Fly!

For the fliers that just have to fly, the indoor Geneva Event was really cool (not temp wise though) and held in an absolutely beautiful facility.  I saw members from Westlake, Suburban, Cleveland, and Lorain there.

2010 Duxford aviation museum - (From Milton)

I visited the Duxford aviation museum back in September while I was traveling in Europe. Attached are some pictures including planes in the restoration phase.  They also have a large American hanger which included a B-52 bomber and SR-71 but these can be seen in Dayton and I did not include any pictures of American planes. There is also a gas powered (two 110 cc engines) 17 foot wingspan RC warbird that was in one of the hangers. I included a picture identifying the specs of this RC warbird. The museum, grounds, and airfield were awesome.

April 11, 2010 ETOC Saturday, first two rounds.

ETOC Saturday, last rounds and final 4.

The above two links are from the ETOC, Electric Tournament of Champions.  The ETOC runs Friday and Saturday evening on the same days as the Weak Signals Show, Toledo, and just a few minutes drive from Seagate.  If you haven't seen this in person, consider visiting it, for the RC Pilots put on a great show, both precision and freestyle.

November 7th and 8th, 2009 JR Indoor Electric Festival, Columbus Ohio

Alex and Al made the Journey to Columbus on Saturday to partake in this event.  Alex flew his new MX-2 foam model while I took pictures.  We also met the designer of the MX-2, RJ Gritter.  The MX-2 took first place at this years E-TOC (Toledo) while being flown by Seth Arnold.  RJ, Seth, Jamie Hicks, Andrew Jesky, Nick Maxwell and many other premier pilots were at this event.  If you are interested in the MX-2 Foam Model for yourself, here's a link where you can get it from:  http://stores.homestead.com/fancyfoam/StoreFront.bok

Held October 7th through October 11th, 2009, Tucson Arizona. Tucson Aerobatic Shootout:  This event drew the top RC Pilots from around the world for 5 days of intense competition.  With  a $100,000 plus purse (money and prizes) at stake, it is certainly the premier RC event in the US.  I (Al) attended the event Friday through Sunday and witnessed some extreme flying.  Wednesday through Sunday was IMAC style sequences.  Saturday and Sunday also had 3-sets of 4-minute freestyles... they were totally awesome!  I took almost 6000 pictures and am presenting them to you in three groupings, one for each of the three days I was there.

Fridays Pictures
These pictures mostly display the event property and a number of planes and pilots.  Saturdays and Sundays pictures will focus on 3D flying.  Sundays pictures will also show the awards ceremonies.

Saturdays Pictures
The 4 minute freestyles start.  This is totally awesome flying done low to the ground and to music.

Sundays Pictures
